Scope of Works
Sportpix International will undertake a range of projects, including golf course photography, golf tournament photography, the production of a tournament yardage guide and also the production of a members’ yardage guide at Foshan Golf Club, Guangdong Province, China, during 2013.
 
In accordance with the Client’s request the individual components of the proposal are itemised below, with costs, where available.
 
Golf Course Photography
All 18 holes of the golf course will be photographed, as and when both the course and the weather provide ideal opportunities for excellent results. The time span needed for this work to be carried out would be three days.
 
In addition to shooting the golf course we will also photograph the clubhouse and related facilities, including restaurants, locker rooms, spa, pool area and other such facilities as required. We will also generate general stock images for collateral production.
 
In order to achieve the desired results the golf course must be prepared to a very high standard, which will include allowing the rough to grow to a height longer than normal to provide definition and contrast to the images. A detailed brief will be provided on acceptance of this proposal.
 
Golf Tournament Photography 
With more than 20 years experience of both professional and amateur golf tournament photography, and as the only photographer in the Asia region with full photographic accreditation to the PGA European Tour, we have the ability to cover all aspects of the event and to provide high-resolution images at intervals throughout each day of play for media/PR purposes. All images will contain accurate embedded IPTC information and will also be accurately captioned. The anticipated duration of the event would cover one practice round, one pro-am round and four tournament rounds. Also anticipated is an evening gala dinner/pro-am dinner/prize giving.
 
Tournament Yardage Guide 
Our high quality tournament yardage guides are used for European Tour qualifying events and also for Ladies European Tour events, and are not-to-scale black and white renderings of each hole with all critical measurements and reference points marked for the benefit of the players. Two days are required for measuring and marking the golf course plus another day or day-and-a-half to transfer the data onto digital layouts before printing and producing the guides can begin, which takes a further day. Should both imperial and metric guides be required an additional day will be needed to convert all data before printing can begin.
 
Members’ Yardage Guide
The basic information contained on the tournament yardage guide can be retained and adapted to be used for the members’ yardage guide, subject to requested style. The size and style of the guide would first of all need to be agreed, as would the extent of the information provided and the number of pages. A typical size for this type of product is 16.5cm x 9.5cm, and often contains 23 double sided pages plus covers.
 
Delivery of Images
Subject to successful editing during the course of the work, the images will be provided to the Client at the end of each shoot and will be contained on a DVD. An identical DVD will be provided at the conclusion of each component of the work for back-up purposes. All images will be accurately captioned and contain embedded IPTC information.
 
Expenses
The Client will cover the cost of all expenses, including but not limited to accommodation, ground transportation and F&B for the duration of the various components. The Client will also cover the cost of any additional equipment needed to carry out the assignments.
 
Copyright
In accordance with International Copyright Law, the photographer will retain copyright of the images provided. However, this does not prevent the Client or members of the Client’s group of companies from using the images to promote the Client’s event/property. The Client will retain the supplied DVDs indefinitely and will enjoy the right to use the images without any further cost or time constraint. Photo credits are mandatory on published/displayed images.
 
Additional Information
We use only state-of-the-art professional Nikon equipment to carry out the work to ensure high quality results.
 
Basic re-touching of images is carried out at the time of editing, however with a well-prepared golf course there should be very little re-touching required.
 
We would recommend that a cherry picker be hired for one day of the course shoot to be able to achieve the necessary elevation to produce aerial type images of specific holes.
 
A selection of the images from both the course and tournament shoots will be uploaded to the photo library section on the Sportpix International website from where they will be available to our international publishing clients. Course images may also subsequently be included on our annual golf calendars, which are shipped to various countries within Asia and beyond.
 
We will also send articles and images from the golf tournament to the South China Morning Post newspaper in Hong Kong, which we hope will help to expand the overall coverage of the event. 
 
Professional Fees
 
Golf Course Photography – US$3,000 plus expenses
 
Golf Tournament Photography – US$6,000 plus expenses
 
Tournament Yardage Guide – US$3,800 (based on imperial and metric books) plus expenses. Price is based on not more than a total of 200 copies being produced and the Client providing appropriate covers.
 
Members’ Yardage Guide - The cost to produce the layouts for a four-colour 50-page (25 actual pages) guide would be US$3,800, based on an agreed style and no more than three edits once the basic design is agreed. The cost of production can only be provided once the total number of units is supplied, and also the paper size/type/weight. We have printing partners in both Shenzhen and Dongguan, which will help to keep the overall production cost down.
