Optical Level Indicator

Check your electrolyte levels without having to remove your watering system.  The built-in indicator is white when the cell is low on water and black when full.  Since it operates independently from the valve, it is the only built-in indicator on the market that can truly be used to accurately verify cell electrolyte levels.

What size batteries will the Pro-Fill RV Edition system fit?

6-Volt or 12-volt “Golf Car” style batteries

How high does the system sit above the batteries?

1.25 inches after it is installed, although you will need 2.5 inches of clearance for installation.

How often should I fill my batteries?

Watering intervals are dependent on the local climate, charging methods, application, and age of batteries.  For most RV applications filling once per month is adequate.  High use RV applications may require filling every two weeks.

How many batteries can I connect together and fill at one time?

A maximum of 6 batteries can be plumbed together with the Pro-Fill RV Edition system, although many users prefer (for ease of filling) to limit the number of batteries plumbed together at 4.

Will the Qwik-Fill system work on 8D or 4D batteries?

Currently we do not offer a system for the 4D or 8D style batteries.

Do I need to remove the Qwik-Fill system for the winter?

No, your Qwik-Fill system is designed to be left on your batteries while your vehicle is in winter storage; however, the system will not be operational while it is frozen.

What size batteries will the Qwik-Fill system fit?

The Qwik-Fill system will fit on most Group 24-31, 12 volt marine deep cycle, dual purpose, and starting batteries.  Specifically those batteries that conform to the standard 3 cell space.  Each hole should .75 inches in diameter and spaced 1 5/8 inches apart (measured center to center)

How high does the system sit above the batteries?

Can I use a water supply other than the hand pump with my Qwik-Fill system?

No, The Qwik-Fill system is designed to work with the RV-2020 hand pumps only.  Modification of the hand pumps or use with other water supplies can damage your Qwik-Fill system and will void your warranty.

Can I leave the water supply connected to my batteries at all times?

No, Leaving a water supply connect to the your SPW system will cause the batteries to be over filled as well as permanent damage to the water supply.  Always disconnect after filling is completed.

When is the best time to fill my batteries?

<li>Water After Charge - Electrolyte levels drop during discharge and rise during charge. In addition, charging generates heat, fluid expansion and explosive gases.  Watering a battery before charge (or with a low charge level) can lead to boil over resulting in potential damage of the watering system, battery and vehicle. </li>

<li>Water must always be added after fully charging the battery.  If your battery charger has an equalize function it is best to add water after equalizing the battery.  Prior to charging, there must be sufficient water to cover the plates. If the battery has been discharged (partially or fully), the water level should still be above the plates.</li>

You can plumb a total of 3 batteries together using the Qwik-Fill system, although many users prefer to limit (for ease of filling) the number of batteries plumbed together at 2.

How do I know when my battery needs water?

Flow-Rite reccomends that batteries are watered on a dedicated schedule to ensure that all batteries get watered.

How many batteries can I fill at one time?

You can fill a total of four 12-volt batteries, or a total of eight 6-volt batteries or a total of six 8-volt batteries or any other combination of batteries up to 24 cells at one time.

Do I need to remove the Pro-Fill system from my batteries in the winter?

<div style="line-height: 19.984375px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">No.  Your Pro-Fill system is designed to be left on your batteries while your vehicle is in winter storage; however, the system will not be operational while it is frozen.</div>

<div style="line-height: 19.984375px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">If you have vehicles that are taken out of service or put into storage for a period of 6 weeks or longer, your single point watering system will require seasonal maintenance.  No special steps need to be taken for winterization of the SPW system that is mounted on the batteries; however, the following steps need to be followed when bringing your vehicle back into service:</div>

<div style="line-height: 19.984375px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">After the batteries have been fully charged / equalized, connect the system to its water supply for 3-5 seconds then disconnect regardless of whether or not the batteries are completely full.</div>

<div style="line-height: 19.984375px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">Place the vehicle back into its regular watering schedule (waiting at least 1 week until next watering).</div>

Operating Requirement of Pro-Fill SPW system:

Flow-Rate: 2-5 gallons per minute*

Pressure Range : 3-35 PSI (no flow, static)

Temp. Range: 32º - 150º F (0º - 65.5º C)

Water supply Operating Requirements:

Inlet Pressure Range 40-100 PSI (no flow, static)

Temp. Range 33º - 150º F (1 - 65.5º C)

What is so special about your tubing?

Our patented “Clampless tubing” installs in just a fraction to time compared to systems that require clamps while retaining it’s holding power up to 75 PSI.  Our tubing is made of Polypropylene which means it is the only tubing in the industry that is truly acid resistant.  Further more our tubing can be bent to the smallest radius without kinking or reducing water flow.  It also is made black in color to prevent any light from penetrating it, and promoting algae growth.

Can I use my new Millennium system with my existing water supply?

The Millennium system can be used with any water supply that has been manufactured by Flow-Rite Controls including Millennium, Snap-Fill, and PowerStream water supplies. In addition the Millennium SPW system can be used with select competitor water supplies. The Millennium SPW system is NOT warranted for use with competitors deionizers or Water Master water supplies.

Why don’t flame arrested valves have a flip top access hole?

Flow-Rite Controls does not offer both the flip-top and external flame arrestor options in the same valve for safety reasons. If a flip top were left open or damaged it would leave a direct vent path for exiting gasses to leave the battery without the protection of the flame arrestor.

What is a flame arrested valve and when/why would I need one?

Our standard Millennium flame arrested valve includes both an internal and external flame arrestor. The external flame arrestor will protect against an outside spark, flame or the like from entering the cell through the de-gas chamber and causing an explosion. In the event of an internal short or explosion from within the cell the patent pending internal flame arrestor will prevent the explosion from propagating to neighboring cells via the watering system.

How does the Millennium valve work?

Millennium Plus+ valve operation features a breakthrough patented technology that sets a new standard for reliability and versatility with single point watering. Without levers, hinges, or pivot action, Millennium Plus+ valves can operate independently of refill water supply pressure to accurately control cell electrolyte levels.  Through Fluidic Displacer Valve Technology, it uses a dual, balanced valve design that allows the displacement force to act directly through the center of the valve without any mechanical leverage. The Millennium valve is very sensitive to the displacement force, allowing a very small displacer to be used.  At the same time it is very insensitive to variations in the water supply pressure used, making it a true multi-pressure valve. Fluidic Displacer Technology allows the Millennium Plus+ valve to maintain the low profile and easy tube routing features found in Flow-Rite’s previous Powerstream and Snap-Fill systems.

Can I use my Millennium system with an automatic water supply such as a Water Genius?

No, Due to the inaccuracy low level logic of these devices they will water the battery every time it charges the battery (and sometimes multiple times throughout the charge cycle) they will eventually overfill the battery.

Does your system work in fast charge applications?

Yes, Flow-Rite is the premier supplier of watering systems to the fast charge industry. The Millennium Valve is the only valve to offer both an internal and external flame arrestor making it the safest valve in the industry. This safety feature is found in most vent caps that are installed on fast charge batteries.

Can I use the Millennium system in a cold storage/freezer application?

Yes, The Millennium valve will reopen just seconds after filling is complete allowing the majority of water in the tubing to drain into the battery. Any remaining water that is left in the tubing or valves can freeze without harming any components; however, the system will not be operable until the water inside is allowed to thaw.

What are the operating specifications for the Millennium valve?

3 to 35 PSI (measured in a static no flow state) while maintaining a minimum of 2 GPM (gallons per minute) flow rate measured through the purger.

How long does it take to install a Millennium SPW kit?

How do I know when my battery needs water?

Most users water their batteries on a dedicated schedule to ensure that all batteries get watered.  If you prefer to opportunity water, we recommend using our Eagle Eye level indicator to let you know when each individual battery requires water.

When is the best time to fill my batteries?

Water after charge.  For fast charge applications fill after equalize.  Electrolyte levels drop during discharge and rise during charge. In addition, charging generates heat, fluid expansion and explosive gases.  Watering a battery before charge (or with a low charge level) can lead to boil over resulting in potential damage of the watering system, battery and vehicle.  Water must always be added after fully charging the battery. Prior to charging, there must be sufficient water to cover the plates. If the battery has been discharged (partially or fully), the water level should still be above the plates.

How often should I fill my batteries?

Watering intervals are dependent on the local climate, charging methods, application, and age of batteries. Flow-Rite recommends that new batteries be checked once a month and older batteries be checked weekly until you get a feel for your water consumption rate.

Typically for a heavy use application, we recommend watering a maximum of once per week, and for light use applications once per month. Generally it is best to water on Wednesdays for most applications. Specifically you should not water a battery that has been sitting for an extended period of time with no activity (non use or not on charge) such as a battery that has sat over the weekend. It is best to water a warm battery that has just been fully charged.

The hand pump water supply is perfect for the user who has 1 or 2 vehicles, (golf car, pallet jack, etc.) and would like to use distilled water.  To operate, simply connect the hand pump to your Pro-Fill system and place the other end in a gallon of distilled water.  Begin to fill by squeezing the pump.  When all of your batteries are filled, the bulb will become firm, not allowing you to add any more water.

Optical level indicators offer a great way for you to monitor the electrolyte level in each cell of you battery at a very low cost.  The indicator will be light in color when your electrolyte levels are low and require water to be added. When your electrolyte levels are adequate, the top of the indicator will be dark in color.
