A notification (通知) from your favorite news app appears on your screen. You open it, and some pictures scroll (滾動(dòng)) automatically to present you with the latest news. This kind of content is written and produced by people called content operators.

Xu Zhaoqi, 24, works as a content operator at an internet company. A content operator’s job varies according to the different projects they are tasked with. Xu is responsible for evaluating (評(píng)估) and editing news articles. She chooses which news articles users see when they open the app or the stories on the top trending (熱門(mén)的) list.

“Being a content operator, the first thing you need to consider is what the target users are interested in,” Xu said.
“作為一個(gè)內(nèi)容運(yùn)營(yíng)，目標(biāo)用戶(hù)的興趣是你最應(yīng)該去思考的。”徐兆琪說(shuō)。
Xu also mentioned that there were several career (職業(yè)) paths related to the job. One possible promotion is joining the management team to direct fellow operators. Since being a content operator allows a deep insight (洞察) into a particular area, starting up her own business is also a possibility.
